Colleen Dougherty 
is the married mother of two young boys and has been writing for over
twenty years.  Most of her writing has been simply for pleasure, including
the time she spent on a sci/fi fantasy novel.  She started writing her Joanie
 Adventure book after her young son ran out of books to read with his father
one night.  After promising him that she'd come up with something for him
to read, she was thrilled to discover how much she loved writing about this
little girl.  Her Joanie books remain close to her heart, with the lead character
named after her own mother and the story using quips taken directly from her 
sons.
